Yesterday I completed the Tough Mudder challenge yesterday with the @MudHatters team who were all fundraising for Headway Salisbury & South Wiltshire and Headway South West London.
Leading up to Headway’s annual ‘Action for Brain Injury Week’ #ABIWeek, I wanted to undertake a challenge to show my support for this year’s campaign ‘A New Me’ #ANewMe – that through grit, determination and support there is life after a brain injury.
Designed by the British Special Forces, Tough Mudder is designed to test your physical strength, stamina and mental grit – all attributes that someone who has suffered a brain injury must regularly demonstrate. The 10 mile obstacle course certainly was a challenge, but with some brilliant teamwork and camaraderie the Tough Mudder didn’t prove too tough for us!
I’m very grateful for all the support I’ve received in the lead up to the Tough Mudder and can’t praise the @MudHatters team enough who worked incredibly hard together to achieve the challenge to raise awareness and funds for the two Headway branches. A BIG thank you also goes to all you generous supporters.
