Community Liaison Volunteer
About the opportunity
Do you have a background in adult social care, health authority work or similar? Are you interested in a volunteering role that makes a real difference to people’s lives?
We are keen to ensure that individuals and families who could benefit from our services are aware that they can access them. We are recruiting a volunteer who can work with us to ensure that adult social care teams, CCG, GPs, community mental health teams, acute care and other voluntary services are fully aware of the support available to brain injury survivors and their families in South Wiltshire.
Headway Salisbury and South Wiltshire hopes to ensure that when a person’s life is turned upside down by brain injury, they get the help and support they need and deserve and are able to live as independent a life as possible. We aim to promote understanding and awareness of all aspects of brain injury; and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their family and friends, as well as assistance in accessing and signposting other services.
We will cover volunteers expenses. This role has flexible hours of commitment and can be mainly home based.
We have people from all walks of life who decide to volunteer with us for lots of different reasons such as to meet new people, gain experience, contribute to the community, and develop new skills. We can work with you to shape the role to meet your experiences, expectations and goals. All volunteers are well supported with an induction and regular meetings with the service manager. Their work is greatly valued by the charity and its service users.
